Gratian, 367-383. Solidus (Gold, 21 mm, 4.47 g, 1 h), uncertain mint in Northern Italy, 383. D N GRATIA-NVS P F AVG Pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust of Gratian to right. Rev. VICTOR-IA AVGG / COM Two emperors, crowned and nimbate, seated facing on double-throne, holding a globe together; behind, Victory standing facing with wings spread; below, small palm branch. Depeyrot 2/1. RIC 5d ('Mediolanum'). A beautiful piece struck in the last months of Gratian's reign. Extremely fine.
